I have had the very odd experience of not seeing a single Steller's Jay in Port Townsend since I moved here - last October!! Locals tell me they are here, but if so, they're hiding from me - not their normal behavior. Contemplating the gaping hole in my yard list...

It's been four months (since early May) since I have seen Steller's Jays at my feeder with my morning coffee.  And this morning I discovered it was not a commie plot, there they were back at the feeder ....
