This early evening we had a couple of dozen finches; gold and house,
flitting about in our Maple tree. They were actively interacting and
vocalizing. It reminded me of how crows and starlings will gather to roost.

I've had both kinds all summer at my sunflower feeder but I have not noticed
such a gathering until today.

The air at my house in Vancouver looks like the 2nd circle of hades but they
didn't seem affected.
