Hi Tweeters,
This morning (8/24/18) I birded Alki Point in West Seattle from about
9am-12pm with the following highlights:
Ruddy Turnstone - 2 (1 adult, 1 juv)
Baird's Sandpiper - 2 juv
Parasitic Jaeger - 4-5 (2 imm, 2-3 adults)
Both the Baird's and the ruddies were feeding with a flock of ~10 Killdeer
and 3 Black Turnstones on the south side of the point along the western
half of the Charles Richey Sr Viewpoint area. The jaegers were seen from
the light house and were essentially straight out most of the time.
Later I checked the Cedar River Mouth were there was another juv Baird's
Sandpiper along with 6 Leasts.
Good birding,
Sam Terry
