Hi Tweets:
We had 4 Common Ravens today, a high number for my yard. Weather-wise,
our one really clear day was yesterday.  We could see the Olympics from
Des Moines.  But last night we had the familiar red sun and red sunset.
Today, Air Quality Seattle (a good website) says we are now in the
middle of moderate (yellow) instead of good. The wildfire 2.5
particulates are getting worse pretty rapidly.
The four ravens were mobbing a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk, which just kept
circling around.  One of the ravens pealed off and kept circling far out
in the distance.  I think it was an adult.  The 3 aggressive ravens kept
harrassing the hawk, which was not bothered by them.  They all kept
circling in the same area.  Maybe they were playing.  The ravens were
doing their gargling call, which had got my attention.  I have never
seen more than 2 ravens from my yard before.  I live down the hill from
the Des Moines post office, north of S 216th St.
Yours, Carol Schulz
