Today 16 of us walked Nisqually in blustery conditions and light rain.
It really wasn't too bad until we got out on the estuary dike when the
wind really picked up. We had a 6.0 low tide at 10:41 so there was
lots of mud in the reclamation area.

HIghlights included relocation the NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL and the
sitting female GREAT HORNED OWL.

The SAW-WHET OWL was back on its original location and the
GREAT-HORNED OWL continues in the snag near the cross over boardwalk.

We had a 5 woodpecker day with HAIRY, DOWNY and PILIATED WOODPECKERS,
along with NORTHERN FLICKER and RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER.

With the tide so low there were plenty of waterfowl on McAllister
Creek, mainly GADWALL and AMERICAN WIGEON. MALLARDS, GREEN-WINGED TEAL
and bufflehead were also present.

There were several YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS about and the usual mixed
flock of both KINGLETS, both CHICKADEES, BROWN CREEPERS, and BEWICK'S
WREN
