I wasn't even thinking of First Bird of the Year when I woke up. What caught my attention were the wheezy calls of the MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE that's been making almost daily appearances at our house in Kirkland this winter. Excellent first bird of the year, quickly followed by 13 more species so far this morning.
