Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry about finding Mandarin Duck on New Year's Day. I drove into Pilling's Pond and had a pretty good look at a gorgeous male Mandarin. Sadly I forgot to bring my telephoto lens so didn't get a good picture.
Tomorrow's bird is Snowy Owl. Is it still being seen up at Semiahmoo?
