It was a few weeks ago I was treated to 5 Red Crossbills to my yard. They came and went over the next few days. I'd not seen them since but today two male and a female were seen chowing down on sunflower seeds at my feeder.

Finally, I just found a flock of Common Redpoll. This was a target bird for 2017 that I missed. The flock seemed to be only redpoll, about 35 with no Siskens or others mixed. They were seen for about 15 minutes at one of the parking spots for hunters along Blaine Rd. This whole area along Grandview Rd has lots of Alder and many open areas that allow for the spotting of moving flocks. There is also decent shoulder parking for that quick stop when something is sighted. I did see the White-winged Crossbill and the leucistic Red-tail Hawk very near there as well a not that long ago.
