Subject: [Tweeters] RFI Osprey Prey Species

I shot this osprey in September while looking for the swallow-tailed gull.  It is a species of flatfish, but I don't know for certain which one.  Someone at the UW Fish Collection should be able to identify it.  Every shot of an osprey I got with a fish in September, it was a flatfish.  But that is by no means a complete diet survey.  Good luck.

Does anyone have a list of fish species most commonly caught by Osprey in the Puget Sound ( Salish Sea) area? The information is needed for a class my wife and I will be teaching soon. Thanks for any specific species names you can send my way. Google has been no help.Regards,----Steve Ellissremse at comcast.netCoupeville, Wa _______________________________________________
