I photographed two Trumpeter Swans on the middle basin of Capitol Lake on New Years Day. Here's a link to some of the photos:

I think the same pair of swans have wintered on Capitol Lake in recent years.

Subject: [Tweeters] Olympia Swans
I saw a pair of swans on the upper part of Capitol Lake in Olympia this afternoon. They were on the far shore from Deschutes Pkwy SW and seen with 10X42 binoculars, I was unable to ID them. They appeared to be Tundra Swans, but size is very deceiving. Has anybody seen them in a scope and got a positive ID? I would appreciate a reply to my below e-mail or to this forum.
Thank you!
Hans
