The person who posted about a male Garganey sent her photo.  It is a great photo but sadly of another quite common species. I believe she is an enthusiastic beginner and we all made mistakes "back then".  I still do.  Sure would have been nice but not to be. Most important she obviously enjoyed her birding and taking photos.
