Subject: [Tweeters] Ragged birdies at feeder and Black Phoebe at River S

I have noticed that the birds coming to my feeder in the last few days look very ragged, more so, I believe, than usual for molting birds. One little chickadee seems to be just barely making it, she is so thin! She didn't even move away from the food when I approached her.  All the adults seem to have had the oomph taken out of them this nesting season. I think the heat was a lot for them to deal with.
In better news, I saw a Black Phoebe with juvenile plumage at the River S unit of Ridgefield NWR, near the tree and marker that are between marker 5 and the hunters blind, on the left. It flew in the direction of the water on the other side of the road.
