Tweets,

Yesterday 30+ of us enjoyed a great walk at Nisqually. It was cool at
the start but warmed up quickly. We had an 8.5 high tide at 11:38, but
it wasn't high enough to put much water onto the reclamation are. In
fact there isn't much water anywhere on the refuge except inside the
boardwalk.

The birds were very vocal yesterday but with the full foliage they
were difficult to see. Highlights included BAND-TAILED PIGEONS, a BALD
EAGLE with chicks, and OSPREY.

We also had a good day for flycatchers with several WESTERN WOOD
PEEWEES, WILLOW and PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHERS in the riparian area
along the boardwalk. OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHERS were heard across
McAllister Creek.

The BALD EAGLE was siting by the nest on the far side of McAllister
Creek and there were 2 chicks in the nest. We also had 2 OSPREY
fishing along the creek.

We sighted BAND-TAILED PIGEONS across from the orchard and later
flying over the twin barns.

For the day I had 51 species and now have 107 for the year.

Until next week....
