We have many White-crowned Sparrows and fledglings this year at our feeders near Point No Point. Most, if not all, of them have a large white patch on their back. I can't find this as an identifying feature in Sibley, Peterson, or the Birds of the Puget Sound Region. I also looked at many pictures of White-crowned Sparrows on Google and the Cornell site and didn't see any with this large white patch on their backs. Any thoughts from the Tweeters world? Thanks
