Hello Tweeters,
It may already be a well known spot, but for anyone who doesn't know and wants to see American Dippers, Flaming Geyser State Park is a good place to find them. I have seen reports multiple times for Dippers out there but lost my Discover Pass and so couldn't make it out there until yesterday I finally bought another pass.
It was a gorgeous morning today and my wife is off work a few days, so we headed out there. We watched the wetlands ponds right in the main part of the park for a bit, then I showed my wife the "Flaming Geyser" as she hadn't see it before, and it was even less impressive than usual as the flame wasn't even going.
Then we went down by the Green River and sure enough, right there at the edge was an American Dipper. It bobbed and bobbed as it pecked at the rocks, looking for bugs. We didn't get to see it swim but it got wet up to it's belly and pulled a big black bug out of the water. It banged it on a rock a few times before swallowing it. Very cute little guy. They have a medium gray breast and brown uppers and blend in really well with the rocks.
Total we had 21 species, including dipper, so it was a good morning. Hope this helps anyone who needs it for their life or year list.

I birded a few spots on Bainbridge Island from 8-12:30 on Sunday 6/10. Totaled 49 species, I missed a few easy ones but I was limited on time (notable misses: house sparrow, rock dove, white crowned sparrow, Canada goose, and double crested cormorant) Highlights and route- My route took me first to Rockaway beach for a very low tide and views of a lone drake harlequin duck. Then off to the storm water retention ponds near Wacky Nut Farm where I picked up a surprise Killdeer. Down to Blakely harbor for a few more passerines and my targeted Caspian terns and belted kingfisher. Up to Gazzam Lake where I encountered black-headed grosbeaks, wood ducks and ducklings, a pied billed grebe and my only purple martin of the day. Lastly up to Battle Point park where I was surprised to find a male common yellow throat (an Island first for me), a few tree swallows using the nesting boxes by the P-patch and lots of mallard ducklings in the ponds.
