Birding with Jeff Jendro and Anne Kahle from Feb. 27 to Mar 2 we had some quality birds. Highlights included a Long-tailed Duck at the Columbia Park Marina on Feb. 27 and March 2 An adult (Thayer's) Iceland Gull was at the marina on March 2. Feb. 28 we birded Powers Road west of Starbuck where we had a Common Redpoll in with many American Goldfinch. In Starbuck on the nw most road in town was a Black-capped Chickadee-seemed out of place. At MP 6 east of Starbuck was 1 Eurasian Wigeon. Texas Rapids had 1 Pacific Wren. Lyon's Ferry Pond had Gadwall. At Schuman Lane looking into Chiawana Park in Pasco was 2 - 3 Steller's Jays, a quality bird for Franklin Co. We found most of the wheat country void of birds. Central Ferry had 1'000 or so of Common Goldeneyes along with many Coots and Mallards.
