Subject: [Tweeters] A Hoard of Dunlin Drops in on Three Mew Gulls

Hi folks,

Following onto my recent post and photo link for the Dunlin flock I had the good fortune of being able to photograph, here is another image that might be of interest. The flock at one point zoomed along over the edge of the receding tide, and decided to come to rest right in front of three Mew Gulls, who must have been wondering where on earth they all came from so suddenly. I shot a couple pictures of the scene. It's interesting to see the relative size comparison between a small gull and the Dunlin. On the two gulls on each side of the image, there is a Dunlin right in front of each gull that appears to be almost an identical position to the gull - kind of a humorous twist.

Both the gulls and shorebirds went about their business without appearing to disturb each other in the least. The link to the picture is at:
