Oops...I would like to thank the very polite readers of Tweeters for not chiding me for apparently not knowing the difference between 'hoard' and 'horde'. Sigh. I used to win spelling bees but apparently that was a few too many decades ago for my aging brain.

The flock at one point zoomed along over the edge of the receding tide, and decided to come to rest right in front of three Mew Gulls, who must have been wondering where on earth they all came from so suddenly. I shot a couple pictures of the scene. It's interesting to see the relative size comparison between a small gull and the Dunlin. On the two gulls on each side of the image, there is a Dunlin right in front of each gull that appears to be almost an identical position to the gull - kind of a humorous twist.
