Thanks to all who responded to my question regarding repairing Leica Trinovids. It seems that repairs can take anywhere from 2 weeks to months depending on backup. There appears to be no lifetime warranty but a limit of 10 years though without a certificate I would need to pay regardless. The cost could be anywhere from $250 up but no one who responded had the frozen focus as I'm experiencing.

I think I'll shelve the heavy optics and use my light Nikon Monarchs.
