After the nectar feeder was nearly drained in 48 hours, I started looking
more closely at the visitors. Sure enough, Sunday, March 11, I saw my
first-of-year male Rufous Hummingbird here in Kalama.



Also, the Northern Saw-Whet Owl in our neighborhood has been too-too-tooting
away for about five days now. Thanks go to my uphill neighbor for leaving
intact, all the trees on the lot between our homes.
