A photographer has posted photos of a female Gyrfalcon he took on a Washington coast beach recently. It was banded locally. He has not disclosed where he saw it, but since it was near his summer beach home, I'm thinking Long Beach Peninsula or Ocean Shores north to Seabrook. Birders checking the ocean beaches should keep their eye out for this bird. Photos here:
