Probably not a big deal, but while on a Sandhill Crane Festival geology/birding tour today, we spotted four White Pelicans outside of town on the east side of the road in a pond just past the Potholes canal; and then a few minutes later, 20 of the same species circling below(!) us at the Columbia NWR Drumheller overlook. Great unexpected fun for our group.
