Subject: [Tweeters] Clark County FORSTER'S TERN, plus a few

This afternoon I tracked down the tern Jim had found this morning at Vancouver Lake and ran into a few other notables there including about 20 Bonaparte's Gulls, a minimum of 4 Clark's Grebes, and a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER.

None of these were the best bird of the day. While at Ridgefield NWR tracking banded Purple Martins, Russ Smith described to me a black and white bird he had glimpsed in a blackberry patch. We tracked it down, and he eventually got photos of a BLACK-THROATED SPARROW on Bachelor Island, a restricted access area of the refuge. This was about a half mile south of one I had seen in 2011.

Tweeters,

There was a FORSTER'S TERN on Vancouver Lake, Clark County at about 8:30 this morning. This is a code 5 bird in Clark County.

Keep your eyes and ears skyward!
