Subject: [Tweeters] Great Egret - stained? secondary coverts

Yesterday I noticed tan on the secondary coverts of a Great Egret at
Poppoff -- the southern end of the Yakima Greenway Path in Union Gap,
Washington. I've never before noticed anything but white plumage on Great
Egrets and find no mention of staining in BNA Online, nor images showing it
in my quick Google image search.

I posted a heavily cropped image on Flickr:

I'd appreciate your thoughts. I have lots to learn. This spring is the
first time I noticed their breeding plumes.
