On Sept 10-14 we're going to Sedro-Woolley, Mt. Baker, North Cascades Hwy, Lake Chelan, Winthrop, and Wenatchee.  Are there any cool places we could check out close to the road?  We won't have time to hike in more than a mile or two.  It would be awesome to find Rosy Finches and/or Ptarmigan.
Do you have recommendations for affordable places to stay for a couple nights on both sides of the mountains?  We need places with a kitchen.
