Today around 3:30 as we drove weston Highway 20 to Anacortes, just past
Sharp's Corner alongside the Fidalgo Bay cove, there was an unmistakable
Great Egret feeding on the shore. No chance of stopping (and no
binoculars or camera). Our first sighting of one in 14+ years in Skagit
County; they were very common in the SF Bay Area, and it was like seeing
a long-lost friend!
