Mark Tomboulian and I had a fun day at the coast today.  Between Bottle Beach and open beach at both Ocean Shores and Midway areas, there were at least 2 or 3 thousand shorebirds. A single first of year Semipalmated Plover and two FOY Snowy Plovers.  Also one Greater Yellowlegs.  Maybe 50 Least Sandpipers and 25 Black Bellied Plovers.  The rest were Dunlin or Sanderlings.  No rockpipers at the jetties.
5 Caspian Terns were first of year birds.  A singing male Common Yellowthroat was at Bottle Beach.  We had Common Loons in full breeding plumage and in complete nonbreeding.  Same for Horned Grebes.  10 Willets at Tokeland.  Mostly no rain.  Grey clouds though.  And almost no traffic coming back.  A very good day...
