I have seen pheasants since I moved to Ocean Shores and asked about
them. They were introduced as a game bird for the hunters and have been
fairly successful as breeding birds go considering the coyotes and feral
cats we have. Their population seems to vary from year to year but I
know they are breeding here because the females sometimes forage on the
ground under my feeders and are accompanied by young birds. The males I
have seen are more often out in the dune grass.
