>>> Last week we took a multi-day trip to Kittitas & Grant Counties. Our main goal was to see the Sandhill Cranes. We had multiple sightings along Frenchman Hills Road in Grant County and a sighting along Highway 26 near Road N SW.

>>> However, the highlight of the trip was Parke Creek Road followed by the Wild Horse Wind Farm. We had never been up Parke Creek Road, but gave it a try after reading about it in one of Brian Bell's post. We loved the setting where the road crosses the creek and hearing and seeing the Wilson's Snipes. Also, on the way up we saw several Western Meadowlarks perched on posts and a Vesper Sparrow on a fence wire.

>>> There was no wind which really helped.

>>> In the past we haven't had much success at the Wild Horse Wind Farm, but this time we immediately had a Sagebrush Sparrow (a life bird for us) on a fence post followed by a Horned Lark and a Sage Thrasher perched on sagebrush.

>>>

>>> We failed to find the White-headed Woodpeckers that had been reported along Hart Road, but did see a large flock of Wild Turkeys along highway 10 just east of Hart Road.
