> Last week we spent 3 days in Eastern WA, drawn by the birds and beautiful weather.

> Our favorite birds seen were:

> 2 Burrowing Owls at Hatchery Road NE in Grant County as originally reported by Blair Bernson on eBird (+ a Horned Lark nearby)

>

> 2 Great Horned Owls at Wanapum State Park in deciduous trees in the day use area near the north end of the beach

>

> Many Tricolored Blackbirds in Othello

>

> Several Yellow-headed Blackbirds, 2 Cinnamon Teal & 2 Greater White-fronted Geese at Para/McCain's Ponds near Othello

>

> Approximately 1500 Sandhill Cranes in Grant County along a fishing access road that heads north off Frenchman Hills Road at a point west of Dodson Road

>

> A Great Egret and 2 American White Pelicans along the main road through the Columbia NWR

>

> A Mountain Bluebird, several Western Bluebirds & several Western Meadowlarks along Swauk Prairie Road in Kittitas County

>

> 2 Wilson's Snipes where Parke Creek Road crosses the creek in Kittitas County
