Howdy Tweets!

During my neighborhood bird walk at Carkeek this morning we discovered a
single breeding plumage Golden Plover sp. at low tide out near a group of
gulls and Caspian Terns at the mouth of the stream. It was by itself about
50ft away from any other bird and it was stationary. I was not able to
distinguish whether it was American or Pacific, but it had the distinctive
black cheek/breast/belly, bordered by white on the head and neck, and
mottled gold and black back, of a breeding plumage Golden Plover. I turned
around for a moment to pull up Golden Plover on my Sibley app and when I
looked up the bird was gone. What a treat!
