Greetings to all Tweets, I've only posted a couple of times over the
years, but read Tweeters regularly. I want to let all know about the
upcoming second Annual Birding Festival Wings Over Willapa coming up at the
end of September. Friends of Willapa National Wildlife Refuge put on this
event. Check it out!! Ever had the opportunity to head out over the
Columbia River Bar to open ocean for some pelagic birding? Or combine a
morning exploring Hot Spots with a tour of Goose Point Oystery finishing
with a lunch of fresh oysters on Willapa Bay? Just two of the many
scheduled events. Here's the link to the Festival - registration has
just opened.

And in addition to this Festival, there's Cape Disappointment State Park,
where the North Head Lighthouse has been restored over the past 5 years to
its original 1898 state - and by September it should once again be open to
the public for tours. And don't miss the second lighthouse at Cape D, the
Cape Disappointment Lighthouse first lit in 1856. Not restored like North
Head. But standing watch over the Mouth of the Columbia River and the
fearsome Columbia Bar.

Hope to see some folks from around here show up in Long Beach this
September!!
