Hi Gary,

Argentina is a gem, especially if you speak at least some Spanish. Renting a car at the Buenos Aires airport is standard procedure. I've also flown, taken buses and trains.

I'll do some re-newed digging.

There was STILL not much when I went down in 2012. But I have been to Argentina 3 times for birding and filming and simply love the place. I used a combination of 3 books and it worked like a charm.

The only area which I have not birded is the extreme NW area. I worked with a retired man who was not good. I've since discovered some locals that could be helpful. But you can easily bird most anywhere without a guide.
