Hi, Tweets,

The Stilt Sandpiper was present near the sand bars on the east side of the Green River this morning from my arrival at 7:40 till about 9. At that time, it flew with a yellowlegs and seemed to be going down at the ponds on 204th. A couple of newly arrived birders went that way to check. Before then, it had been pretty faithful to the spot, veering off and returning when the yellowlegs flew off north a half hour earlier, ignoring a departing peep headed south before that. I don't know where it goes when it's neither at these sand bars nor on the ponds at 204th (as was reported by another birder when I was at the river two days ago).

(Yes, walk north from Three Friends Fishing Hole and view the area from the dike on the east bank of the river. While you could possibly hop the fence to walk the dike on the west side of the river, it's farther from the sand bars, and I don't know that you could even see the river with all the adjacent willows and alders most of the way.)
