Hi Tweets,

None of the recent rare stars at Griffith-Priday SP near Copalis Beach, but the coast was hopping with migrating birds. We had an amazing flight of Whimbrels with a whopping 437 birds seen - what a treat!

Also good numbers of Semipalmated Plovers, juvenile Sanderlings, Western & Least Sandpipers. A small group of calling SB Dowitchers and one LB Dowitcher that kept popping up wit different bird groups all day.

Also, the amazing spectacle of 1000s of Sooty Shearwaters passing by quite close to the shore, along with a 100 RT Loons and 20 Pacific Loons.

A great day birding with Andy & Ellen Stepniewski, Brian Pendleton and Heather Ballash.

Good birding,
