Tweeters,
Please, if at all possible, notify your congressional representative regarding the Recovering America's Wildlife Act (RAWA). This funds State Wildlife Action Plans (SWAP) and is dedicated for non-game species. Washington stands to gain approximately $25 million PER YEAR to help with sensitive, threatened, and endangered and other non-game wildlife. Note: Money from fossil-fuel stuff is NO longer funding RAWA.

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis

Friends of Wildlife Conservation:

This Thursday, December 5th the House Natural Resources Committee will VOTE on Recovering America's Wildlife Act. This is an important step before it can be voted on by the full House (in 2020). We need YOUR help to ensure a bipartisan vote out of committee. No vote can be taken for granted. Calls and emails today and tomorrow into members of congress that sit on this committee is absolutely essential.

See a list of House Natural Resources committee members here: https://naturalresources.house.gov/. this includes many states so please see if one of them is yours including AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, ID, LA, MD, MO, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OK, PA, Puerto Rico, SC, TX, UT, VA, WY and all the territories.

We have a simple message:

Please vote YES on Recovering America's Wildlife Act in the House Natural Resources Committee on December 5th.

We would appreciate emails and calls from both grassroots to get on their radar and grasstop influential that might have a direct relationship with the Members. And to both Republicans and Democrats. Please call those that already co-sponsored and those that have not. Even if you think your Member of Congress is a NO vote, they might re-think their position if enough of their constituents weigh in. It is our job as their constituents to let them know how we would like them to vote. How else could they represent us if they don't know?

If you don't have a member on the committee, think of reaching out to your family, friends and colleagues from the above states.

If you call, just ask them to VOTE YES on Recovering America's Wildlife Act on Thursday Dec 5th in the House Natural Resources Committee. If you prefer to send an email, you can just send that simple note or here is a longer sample letter you might use to send to your member of congress if they sit on the House Natural Resources Committee:

Subject line: Recovering America's Wildlife Act - Vote YES on Thursday, December 5.

Dear Congressman/woman XX:

Please vote YES on Recovering America's Wildlife Act (H.R. 3742) in the House Natural Resources Committee on Thursday, December 5th.

The Recovering America's Wildlife Act is simply the most significant piece of wildlife legislation since the Endangered Species Act passed in 1973. It will help conserve the full diversity of wildlife by investing $1.397B in on-the-ground collaborative conservation in every state, territory, and tribal lands.

The Recovering America's Wildlife Act is built upon the premise that the best way to save America's wildlife is through collaborative, proactive, voluntary work before species need more expensive "emergency room procedures". I urge you to create a bright future for America's wildlife and natural heritage by voting YES this Thursday.

Sincerely,
Naomi Edelson
