Subject: [Tweeters] Swan Survey volunteers needed
Date: Wed Dec 18 20:59:46 PST 2019
From: Martha Jordan - mj.cygnus at gmail.com

This is a special request: The annual swan surveys done by WDFW using
volunteers (and a few staff) have a need for additional people to help.
(Some folks are busy with other tasks and cannot participate this year).
What is needed: Be willing to do a survey for a few hours either on
Monday Jan 13 in Skagit County or Tues Jan 14 in Whatcom County. We can
also use help on Wed Jan 15 in King County and either Thur, Fri or Sat (Jan
16, 17, 18 for parts of Snohomish County.
You must be good with swan ID - Trumpeter vs Tundra. Have a spotting
scope and binocs.
You can even do this as a pair of people for counting. You will be
assigned a specific area, given maps and data forms. I can teach you about
how to use the form.
If you are interested in participating: please, if you want to
participate we need you to really commit to participate on the day. (If it
snows or really bad weather issues it will get rescheduled, and this rarely
happens).
Contact me off list at: martha at nwswans.org or call me 206-713-3684.

Thanks.
