Hello Tweets,
I'm back in Elma for a few days.  I drove Wenzel Slough and Brady Loop Roads this afternoon.  Nice to be back in some old haunts.  There was a big mixed gull flock on the west end of Wenzel Slough Road.  Mew, Ring-billed, Glaucous-winged, and mutts here.
Then on the east side of Brady Loop, a scrub jay was being loud which prompted me to quickly notice the big, dark lump sitting in a tree in someone's yard.  The Barred Owl was trying to sleep there.  That would be my first sighting ever of a Barred on the loop if my memory serves me well.
There were a total of about 50 swans in various parts of the loop.  I am without my scope so I left the ID up in the air.  Not much waterfowl around due to hunting activity.
Good birding,
