I'm visiting from the east coast but my favorite afternoon walk in the Westport/Grayland area is Bottle Beach. The past 3 days I've seen a male varied thrush in the same area - at the start of the walk in the tunnel of brush just before the turn to head for the beach. He's in no hurry to leave but moves just enough to stay slightly hidden. Acts like this is 'his spot.'
