It will take over a year to replace the bridge?  That is a major bummer, as I almost always swing through the NWR on my way to visit relatives in Vancouver, WA.  Many of these trips are on a week day. 

The bridge appeared to be in much better shape than the dirt road leading down the hill to the bridge.

I was just informed that public use entry to the River S Unit of Ridgefield NWR will be closed weekdays (M-F) beginning March 18 as construction begins to replace the existing 1-lane bridge crossing Lake River.  This project could last into the summer of 2020.  Weekend access will remain open.
