My first 2 birds of the year were the purple finches and GC Sparrows that have dominated my feeder this winter, but I was very surprised to see a Harris's sparrow arrive soon after. It showed up on November 30th and stayed for 2 days but I hadn't seen it since so thought it had moved on. This is the 2nd Harris's sparrow to visit my yard, the first arrived in late December 2015 and stayed until the first week of May 2016, molting into breeding plumage by the time it left.
