Is a 'black brant goose' different from a 'Brant'?

Thanks for your help,
Jane Stewart

About 1:30 several large flocks of cackling geese flew into a field close to
the railroad bridge across the Cowlitz River. I estimated the final flock to
be 6000. Scanning the flock for about an hour and a half I did not find a
black brant although there was a snow and white-fronted goose.
