Hello everyone,

If you've traveled to London over the past decade or so, you may have
noticed that something is missing (or almost missing): its sparrows.
they're there, if you look really hard, but I know, from experience, that
they're quite rare and getting rarer all the time.

but aren't they supposed to be invasive species? why are they so rare in
their homeland? (come to think of it, they're getting rarer in other places
around the world, too.) This piece talks about an interesting study that
takes a look at diseases -- weirdly, the possibility of diseases are rarely
examined rigorously by ecologists when considering potential causes for a
species decline.
