Subject: [Tweeters] Long-tailed Duck remains

Around 1 p.m. the female Long-tailed Duck was close to the dock. A
photographer (not the usual suspect) came down onto the dock; the
Long-tailed Duck flushed down the lake. Yesterday afternoon I'd never seen
her flush, even with multiple close passes by fisherfolk in a canoe. The
photographer came down to where I was and asked if I though he'd flushed
it. I said I thought so. Perhaps not. He apologized and went on down the
lake shore after her in pursuit of his photos. I'm hoping she won't be
scared off the lake and that my wife will also have the chance to see our
rare visitor after work today.
Good Birding,
