I've just returned from a short visit to San Pancho, Nayarit, and I wanted to let you all know that we found the best ever place to stay, if you're a birder.

It's a two bedroom house on the edge of the jungle, above the sea, just outside of town. From the patio, we saw Orange-Breasted Buntings, Blue Buntings, Elegant Trogons, Golden-Cheeked Woodpeckers, Masked Tityra, Sinaloa Wrens, Social Flycatchers, Black-Throated Magpie Jays, Rufous-Bellied Chachalacas, countless Magnificent Frigatebirds overhead, Common Black Hawks, and more!
The place was super affordable. I'm not promoting a particular rental; we don't have any stake in the property. So I won't post the link here, but if you have plans to visit the area, email me and I'll share the link.

Also, while we were there, we spent a morning birding with Luis from the San Pancho Bird Observatory - an organization that is doing incredible conservation work in the region. I'd encourage everyone to include a trip with Luis if you're ever in that part of Nayarit. They do tours of a few hours up to a few days!
