Hi Tweeters,
I swung by M Street Marsh again after work. Waterfowl numbers are down a
bit compared to last Monday, especially Northern Shovelers. Shorebirds
species seen were LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER (17), LEAST SANDPIPER (14), SPOTTED
SANDPIPER (3), and KILLDEER (3). There was a WESTERN KINGBIRD flycatching
from the taller weeds at the southern end of the main pond, frequently
landing in the mud at the edge of the water to snatch prey on the ground.
Good birding,
Lonnie Somer
