Yesterday we managed to slip in and out of Kittitas County, making nary a ripple in the annals of birding history, but we had a great time. The weather was pleasant, the birds were plentiful and we lucked into free pie night at the Cle Elum restaurant where we ate dinner.

Our bird of the day was a Bullock's Oriole tending a nest at the Northern Pacific Railroad Ponds.

Another favorite find was a bush filled with Chipping Sparrows at Swauk Prairie.

We also visited the Hyak hummingbird feeder house, Bullfrog Pond near Suncadia and the Cle Elum Cemetery, which proved not to be very lively. All of our reports are on eBird.
