> The White-headed Woodpeckers are very active at a snag situated by the circular drive where people can temporarily park to go to the registration office at Sleeping Lady Resort. We saw them in the morning yesterday. An adult kept returning to the nesting cavity even when a car was parked right in front of the snag. At one point the adult got very agitated when a worker was sweeping the parking lot with a large machine. The adult hovered over my head and then went to another snag and let out warning calls. Karen thinks the adult thought I was a snag. When the machine and worker left, the adult resumed feeding the juvenile.
