Running out of the house today I glanced through the bedroom window and six feet away in one of our japanese pines was a lovely Red Breasted Sapsucker. I associate these with a little more wildness, even the nearby Woodland or Green Lake Parks - but there it was. Neat little guy, indeed sucking the sap. A Bewick's Wren soon joined him to scout out his activity.
