The thrill today at Nisqually N. W. R. was a Northern Pygmy-Owl, thanks to earlier birders and the succession of photographers and others who passed the bird on till we got to it. I don't know that it'll continue, but if you're around, you might inquire/search the northeast woods. Also today: kestrel, harriers, ravens, Varied Thrushes, pipits, Barn Swallows, one white-fronted goose family, a few sandpipers too distant without a scope (prob. Dunlin, Least), Greater Yellowlegs, Black-bellied Plover, Wilson's Snipe, and more than a half dozen Pacific chorus (tree) frogs on one mossy tree near the picnic area by the barns (more heard).

Then later, around 5 p. m., near the Shoreline city hall, about nine Turkey Vultures kettling and heading south.
